February 2019-Dog Behavior Supervisor

As part of our new Cabana Cares program, we will honor a member of our Canine Cabana team and a local charity each month by donating a portion of the proceeds from our monthly events to a charity of each team member’s choice. Wearing your t-shirt and posting on Facebook &/or Instagram using the hashtags #DogofCanineCabana and #CabanaCares will help spread the word that Canine Cabana cares and you do too!

Kristin has been at the Cabana for nearly three years as a dog trainer and more recently as our supervisor of behavior. Before she was part of Team Cabana, she worked with a wide variety of animals, including dolphins, sea lions, penguins and primates! She also holds a certification in dog training through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) and is is member of The Association of Professional Dog Trainer (APDT). Kristin’s charity for this month is an organization that she has worked with for several years, Gulf World Marine Institute.

Gulf World Marine Institute (GWMI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of marine mammals and sea turtles. They serve as the only long-term marine mammal rehabilitation and the largest sea turtle rehabilitation facility in Northern Florida. GWMI works closely with NOAA Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to help contribute to the conservation of endangered and protected species in Florida waters.
