Dog socialization skills are primarily developed as a puppy during a critical window up until five months of age. Your dog’s response to new dogs, people, other animals, new environments, and new situations are all encompassed under socialization. Common concerns include a dog’s ability to interact positively with other dogs and their reaction to people and other dogs on and off-leash.
We have several programs that can help you and your family safely manage your dog’s behavior. We’re here to help your dog learn to safely and happily navigate their world. We partner with you to help you set realistic expectations in real-world situations and help you become your dog’s best advocate and biggest fan.
Our private socialization program is a three-week (15 days) program that combines training sessions and Doggie Daycare, so dogs can run, play, and exercise, and then focus on learning during the training sessions. We focus on helping dogs become more comfortable being handled, being around new people, and being in new environments, in addition to pet parent goals.
Before your dog’s first visit, we will gather detailed information about your dog’s current behaviors, unique situations you’ve encountered, and your goals. We will set up a Dog Training Orientation so your dog can spend the day with us as our team of trainers completes a behavioral assessment. At the end of the orientation day, we will speak with you about our observations, discuss realistic expectations, and recommend a program designed for you and your dog.
We can help reduce your dog’s sensitivity and negative reactions to certain experiences and situations. This program is a three-week program, or 15 days, combined with our Daycare services, so your dog can have fun running, playing, and releasing extra energy to ensure better focus during dog training sessions. During your dog’s Training Orientation day, our team of trainers will complete a behavioral assessment. At the end of the Orientation, we will speak with you about our observations, discuss realistic expectations, and recommend a program to help you and your dog meet the established goals.
Using positive reinforcement training rewards dogs with praise, extra attention, and food, making them want to repeat the rewarded behaviors. With positive reinforcement training, you will build a foundation of trust and respect that will last for the lifetime of your pet. Through positive dog training methods, your dog can learn not to jump up, counter surf, and not whine for attention, but to behave with a desire to please you and reward you with good manners and lots of love.
Consistency is the key to having a well-mannered dog, so at the end of each program, you and your family will meet with one of our trainers during an hour-long consultation to review each goal and practice each skill. This is a perfect opportunity to ask questions and discuss future goals for your dog and your family.
We would love to speak with you to review your dog training needs. After learning more about you and your dog, we will schedule a training orientation to complete a training assessment.
