When it comes to choosing who cares for your dog, we know you have options. So, what makes Canine Cabana different?
Well, for starters… we’ve been doing this for 18 years!
The pet care industry has changed tremendously over the years, and so have we. As a family-owned dog boarding, doggie daycare, and dog training facility, we’re constantly learning, adapting, and finding new ways to provide better, safer, and more enriching care for the dogs who walk through our doors.
But one thing hasn’t changed: who we are.
Canine Cabana is a family-owned and operated small business with one location and more than three acres of property for our furry guests to enjoy. Our owners, Angie and Kendall, have been best friends for more than 20 years and are former zookeepers who built Canine Cabana around their shared passion for animals.
And while three acres gives us plenty of room to play, what truly makes Canine Cabana special starts with the people caring for your dog.
It All Starts With Our Team

We pride ourselves on building a team that fits our culture of integrity, compassion, and a genuine passion for animals.
Our team members come from all kinds of backgrounds, including retired military members, dog trainers, actresses, and people who simply knew that working with dogs was what they were meant to do.
But loving dogs is only the beginning.
Before a team member even begins handling dogs, they complete training in canine body language and behavior. Dogs are constantly communicating with us—we just have to know how to listen.
Our team learns to recognize communication through a dog’s eyes, ears, posture, movement, and tail placement. Understanding those subtle signals helps us recognize how a dog is feeling and create more positive interactions.
Training also includes proper leashing techniques, positive reinforcement, safely managing group play, and understanding different play styles and behaviors.
Our team is also trained in cleanliness, sanitation, and detailed facility protocols. Many of our team members are Pet CPR and First Aid certified, adding another layer of knowledge and preparedness to the care we provide.
Hands-On Care That Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All
One of the biggest things that sets Canine Cabana apart is our level of hands-on care.
Every dog is different. A four-month-old Mini Goldendoodle can have completely different physical, social, and emotional needs than a five-year-old German Shepherd. Why should their day look exactly the same?
Our goal is to learn what makes your dog thrive.
Some dogs love a big group of furry friends. Others prefer a smaller playgroup with carefully selected buddies. And some dogs? They’re people dogs through and through!

Instead of trying to make every dog fit into the same type of doggie daycare, we work to find the type of play and interaction that helps each individual dog feel comfortable, confident, and fulfilled. Our team even builds each dog’s daily routine around programs like Cabana Manners, so playtime and good manners grow together.
And that’s just the beginning.
Next week: We’ll take you beyond traditional daycare and show you how enrichment, our Adventure Trail, and our “second home” philosophy make the Canine Cabana experience even more unique. In the meantime, come see the difference for yourself – book a tour and meet the team that’s been doing things differently for 18 years.
